Thank you for your interest in our local community with about 1000 residents. Our little viticultural village is located in the beautiful Gräfenbach valley, approximately 145m above sea level and 7 km north-west of Bad Kreuznach, the district capital. Gutenberg is characterized by steady weather, relatively little rainfall and countless sunny days.
Gutenberg is a place worth living in. The small village distinguishes itself by an endearing and open-minded community and a good infrastructure, especially for young families. Many local sports clubs offer a wide range of leisure opportunities. If you are interested in a less physically demanding activity you could also join the local choir (Das Chörchen) or drama group (Burgtheater).
Not only the well-equipped daycare center, but the volunteer fire department as well look after our little ones. Our two church congregations actively work with our youth as well.
In 2014 we celebrated our partnership of 30 years with the French village Villy le Bouveret. We meet each other every 2 years, either here or in France, to celebrate this partnership.
Gutenberg also offers a variety of locations to gather and celebrate. The evangelical community hall, the community center and the sports hall (Gutenburghalle) offer more than enough room for every occasion. On a clear day, you can also use the village square.
Your sporting needs are well cared for in Gutenberg. A well-lit football field, the tennis courts of the TuS Gutenberg, the sports hall and many outdoor tracks for joggers, walkers and hikers leave nothing to be desired.
The annual funfair, which takes place on the second weekend of September, provides the perfect opportunity to meet the locals and spend some quality time.
If you want to experience a typical viticultural village in a tributary valley of the Nahe river, Gutenberg is the place to be.
With kind regards,
Jürgen Frank Mayor
